May 1: The Day
Finalize Sessions
After talking with my DE counterparts, we decided to put a D2L Overview session in there. Kinda need to have it. So it has been added at Noon, replacing the ”Student Communication tools in D2L” session. It will also need to take place in the lab, so the noon Unconference has been axed since the idea for this was to be hands on.
I’ve also removed the Digital Storytelling session. AS much as I would love to do it, I am not sure there is anyone we can get in that is using this technique that could come in to speak on it.
So, we have 1, possibly 2 empty spaces on the sked. I will start asking around to see if I can find a faculty who might be able to contribute something here.
I’ve added in bold some names to the sessions as people who could coordinate the session. Sybil, I have you down for the Library and Copyright sessions. Not that you have to do these sessions, but could you please coordinate them?
Publicity and Registration – websites, posters, email
I am thinking of March 27 as the day to have posters done and a registration form available. We can look to distribute the posters to both campuses the following week so they are up and visible by April 3 . Last year we printed 50 posters, which wasn’t many. Perhaps doubling that this year, with 50 for each campus?
Nancy, would you be able to coordinate development of the poster with the printshop? We would need a proof by March 18th or so.
I can take care of the website. It will be simple this year, but I would like to have that up by the time we open registration on March 27th.
Introductions
Baldev and Paul are both booked for May 1st. Paul to do the welcome and kick off the event, Baldev to introduce Alec. I will write some notes for both of them.
Food
Please review the catering menu’s posted http://www.campusdish.com/en-US/CA/Camosun/Catering/ and make suggestions as to what morning coffee and lunch should include. I would like to have a preliminary list of suggestions by next Wednesday (March 11th). Please post suggestions on the wiki under Menu (direct link: http://camosunde.pbwiki.com/Menu).
A/V Services
Are up to speed and ready to go with auditorium requirements and capturing the sessions for later broadcast.
IT Services
Have also been notified and are being kept up to date
Misc
6 on 6. Nancy, do you have an ETA from Blake on the video?
